Bright Night 30 June 2007As we get closer to the 30th June things are beginning to gather pace. Well done to Jo, Michelle, Emily, Hollie, Hannora and Harriet for spending 5 hours on Saturday washing cars at the school. Sunburned shoulders were a bit sore the next day, but as you can see from the photos now available on the Gallery page, it looks like they enjoyed the day. Importantly they raised around £200 on Saturday, if you missed it then there's another chance this Saturday, same time same place. Let's see how close we can get to the £450 we need to raise to cover the cost of the hall on June 30. If we do then everything we take in ticket sales and on the day will go to the Edward Bright appeal. The appeal has raised £120K already, but this is only half of what he will need for his prosthetic limbs. To view the carwash photos click on the gallery link above and then select carwash. more about Edward's progress on www.edwardbright.com
Charity Show 30 June 2007On Saturday 30 June the school will be putting on a shorter version of this year's show for charity. All profits from the show will go to the fund for Edward Bright, who recently lost both arms and legs after a severe case of meningitis (see link below for more news about Edward). The show will take place at Belper School, and we ask for the support of all students and families to make this day a success. We will have rehearsals in the morning, a matinee at 2:30pm and an evening show at 7:00 pm.
David Beard MusicWe are pleased to present our new Music Page, where you can listen to the pieces of music written by David for Vanessa. Enjoy.
Message of Congratulations from Derek
Derek has sent the following message to the school.
for Vanessa'swebsite:- I was proud to be patron of the school before this event, but since these magnificent wins at the Mercia Festival and especially, of course, with my own numbers' placings of 1st and 3rd, I am even more proud of the students' fantastically consistant work rate in their classes. It is this which has gained them so many titles. Derek Hartley MA (P.Arts) Patron
